My name is Charles Fletcher, I am currently a grade 10 at SACS.
Academics:
I take IT, Physics, Geography, Math (plus complusory subjects: English, Afrikaans and Life Orientation.) My grades vary, mostly hovering in the 75-80% area.
Sport:
I row in the third seat for the 1st VIII (First Team). I am also bisweptual, but prefer bow side.
Skills:
My specialty is technology. I am often called the Tech Guy by my peers and teachers. SInce a young age I've dug deep into learning all things tech, no matter the category. I know a lot about hardware and software.
Hardware: I have experience in building computers, ranging from simple circuits that include microchips to full desktop PCs. I have boxs of small circuit components at home that I like to build small contraptions out of. I have a good understanding of how most bits of hardware work. I enjoy diagnosing and fixing hardware systems of all sizes. Check out this link to see all the cool things I've made: (Coming soon).
I also enjoy putting things together, even if electricity isn't involved. I have a 3D printer that I print small gadgets with. I mostly hand make my 3D Models in a software. Some of my prints include latches for broken doors, height washers and SpeedCoach mounts for rowing. If you ever need something 3D printed, don't be afraid to ask (Contact me). 3D filament is super strong and cheap.
I am trying to grow my collection of hardware, so if you have any old computer bits lying around (or anything with a wire), I'll take it. Anything from a receipt printer to an old keyboard or monitor, I'll take it all.
Software: Since grade 5, I've started building my own websites. As of August 2024 I can code in the following languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Java, Python and Dephi. Langauges that I no longer use: C++ and C#. I also know SQL.
For some reason, I seem to have a special way of figuring out how to use different software, it seems to come naturally to me. I can efficiently make my way around an app with little problems. I love using the Office

I love doing a bit of work for others, especially if it has a unique challenege involved.
That is what I am heavily involved in the multi-media crew and music department. I help setup, test, diagnose and repair equipment and setups.
